VANCOUVER CLASSIC - CAPTURING THE DIVERSITY OF VANCOUVER
When was the moment that you knew you were a real life photographer?
We were shooting a short film in a rural area of Bangladesh, the crew was from London and all we had was an island full of old people, I get along with people well so I used to talk to them everyday in the morning at breakfast and in their free time just to keep the energy alive. I had no camera at that time but I always wanted to shoot portraits so I requested the camera from Art Director and he was happily gave his camera to me. I went around and took some pictures, that day I took so many shots and people were amazingly happy some of them started crying, reason they never had anyone taking their picture, that moment inspired me to take more picture of those who are left out of the society, those who have nothing … but still happy in their world. Where do you find inspiration? Nature, everything going around me is inspiration GOD is great to give us a mind to think body to react and heart to love….. I am also inspired to do more and more as I can touch many souls and bring smiles to many faces just with a single click of my shutter. How long are you in photography? Its been five years now but feels like its been with me all my life. |
What is your most memorable first photograph?
I was passing through a village and saw a lady sitting without any movement no movement at all just static, for almost few minutes I stood there and watched her, then I got a bit scared thought she has passed this world I went closer asked her family member what was going on with her and found out she is too old to even talk, with their permission I took her picture and that picture is my best till date with that small point and shoot camera …. That picture was even featured in some exhibitions and national geography editors choice online Where were you ten years ago, and where do you want to be ten years from now? If I knew my destiny I would be working in some corporate world I let time tell me where I can be I am a traveler who wants to capture all we can see through my lens…. 10 years I will be taking picture on some AFRICA or remote corner of the world What would your advice be to future aspirants heading in the creative industry? Focus … FOCUS …. Believe in yourself when the whole world is against you Listen to your soul, and never give up…. |
